Proclamation ceremony with Gov. Lynch
March 29th: Governor Lynch signed the official proclamation making the month of April in the state of New Hampshire Distracted Driving Awareness Month! Thank you so much Governor Lynch for listening to our stories and efforts to make the New Hampshire roads a safer place. The more awareness we can bring to distracted driving the more lives and injuries we can help prevent. Governor Lynch also proudly raised his DNT TXT N DRV thumb band with our group. Happy Distracted Driving Awareness Month!

Thank you so much to Paul's Executive Car Care for letting Miss Manchester ride in style.

Here with Eileen Kelley, Miss NHOT, posing for a thumbs-up picture with our pink thumbands. You will not catch us texting behind the wheel!

Receiving Congressional Honors

This honor will be part of the Congressional Record.
I was very happy my dad, Don Silk and my grandmother, Helen Syvinski, could join in the celebration of receiving the honor of my work against distracted driving...it really is a family platform. Thank you Congressman Frank Guinta!

Distracted Driving Letters
Jan 22: I took the time to write letters to all the fifteen states who do NOT have primary bans on texting while driving. It is so important to have at least primary legislation on texting while driving within the states. Remember to keep both your hands and eyes on the steering wheel and keep fighting against distracted driving!

Rochester PD & The Howard Safety Challenge
Jan 19: I was asked to be a guest speaker for the Howard Safety Challenge that Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH is participating in. Today was a practice seat belt speed session in preparation for their physical challenge which happens in May. I was allowed to share my personal story with how my family has been affected by distracted drivers with the teens and encourage them to take action and responsibility to choose to not be distracted behind the wheels of a motor vehicle. I am thrilled to be partnering with Officer Balint and the Rochester Police Department to continue to bring awareness and take action against distracted driving.
