Miss NH Tea Party

March 18th: I had such a wonderful afternoon at the Miss NH Tea Party fundraiser with my sister Tiffany, and soon to be outstanding teen contestant, Kylene DeSmith.  In support of my platform, Drive Against Distractions, I brought frosted cookies with a DNT TXT N DRV thumband stuck in the frosting!  Here with Eileen Kelley, Miss NHOT, posing for a thumbs-up picture with our pink thumbands.  You will not catch us texting behind the wheel!

Portsmouth Christian Academy

March 19th: Portsmouth Christian Academy-Dover middle school and high school students raised their thumbs with me in support of safe driving.  Come see these amazingly talented actors and actresses perform Fiddler on the Roof in May!

Benson's Driving School

March 15th: I had the privilege to speak to Benson's Driving School in Barrington, NH about the dangers of distracted driving.  I spoke to the teens about how me and my family's life has been dramatically affected by distracted drivers.  The soon to be drivers were so excited to take home a reminder to not text and drive behind the wheel...DNT TXT N DRV thumbands!

Bike Walk Alliance of NH spokeswoman

March 4: I am so honored to be the new spokeswoman for the Bike Walk Alliance of NH. The executive director, Linda Gould, and myself are working with local NH representatives to submit 'The Vulnerable User Law' which will introduce tougher penalties for distracted driving.  Notice our DNT TXT N DRV thumbands!

Receiving Congressional Honors

Feb 24: I felt overwhelmed hearing the honoring words and compassion from U.S. Representative Frank Guinta as he read the certificate of recognition for my work against distracted driving....a moment I will never forget remembering the suffering my family has been through.  This honor will be part of the Congressional Record.

I was very happy my dad, Don Silk and my grandmother, Helen Syvinski, could join in the celebration of receiving the honor of my work against distracted driving...it really is a family platform. Thank you Congressman Frank Guinta!

Miss NH's Outstanding Teen

February 12th my beautiful friend Kylene and I went to support and watch the Miss New Hampshire's Outstanding Teen Finals. Kylene is an inspiring cancer survivor planning to participate in the Miss NHOT pageants this summer.  Kylene also plays the Oboe in the NH Youth Symphony Orchestra.  A big congratulations to Eileen Kelley, Miss NH's Oustanding Teen 2012!

Drive Against Distractions Zumbathon

Feb 19th I led a Drive Against Distractions Zumbathon at the University of New Hampshire.  Here with some friends from Kappa Delta sorority who participated and helped me promote the event.
